100% handcrafted, cozy scandinavian style cat pod. A piece of furniture that will offer your cat womb-like comfort and coziness, while enriching your home decor with its unique, retro design. Made with paper mache, reinforced with layers of paper, fabric, and plaster gauze, using 100% non-toxic and pet-safe materials. The legs are made of beech wood.
Each sphere consists of 5 layers of solid materials. The entire pod is created in 10 stages, including priming and sealing of different layers as well as sanding and staining of the legs.
Each stage requires varying drying times. It can take up to 20 hours of work, spread out over 2-3 weeks, to complete one pod. You can see more details on the process on my instagram and facebook pages. The finished product is hard to the touch, anti-scratch, and quite sturdy.
It can withstand a little moisture but is not completely waterproof, with the inside being more resistant than the outside. A soft, double-sided cushion with a removable, machine washable cover is included.
The product you receive will be the one pictured. However, the colours might vary slightly due to different monitor settings. Do not use water or harsh chemicals to clean. Instead, wipe surfaces with a slightly damp cloth. We all know that most cats love to hide, especially in small and cozy dark places.
It makes them feel safe, warm and comfortable. Providing our indoor cats with appropriate opportunities to hide and relax, is essential to their health and well-being. While most pet parents know that their cats need exercise, toys, and playtime, they are not as aware of their cat's need to burrow away in dark, comfortable, and safe places to get away from it all. Having lots of spots within the home, where cats can tuck themselves securely away, is an important component to keeping them happy and enriched. This was the philosophy behind the creation of the felicity pod, which simultaneously enables cats to survey their territory, and spy on you and any potential "enemies" that may invade it. If however you've observed that your cat does not like dark enclosures and prefers open spaces, l would suggest you choose a different style cat bed.
